These BACKSTAGE PASSES were secured over several decades
from the personal collections of concert photographers, roadies and YES even band members. They began collecting and actually trading passes with other concert professional during and after concert tours. Many passes were merely left backstage and in dressing rooms. Some passes were original printing overruns, set-up sheets, color test prints, printer's proof sheets, and discarded misprints. Many were printed by [OTTO] Entertainment & Graphics, T-Bird or PERRI. My passes are all in Excellent condition and the cloth passes still have their adhesive backing still intact.

Backstage Passes were usually printed in small quantities on adhesive cloth with a removable paper backing. Generally, the local concert promoters printed the '70's style adhesive cloth concert passes with plain brown or white backings. CREW and TOUR STAFF Identification passes were laminated in plastic. Only a few thousand were printed for any specific Band's tour. Rare and limited, Backstage Passes from the 1970's and early 80's are extremely valuable. Printer proof sheets and never used leftovers are in high demand by Baby Boomers. The current market value varies for each pass and usually depends on their age, condition, availability, and whether the ARTIST is alive or dead.

Collectables, especially backstage concert passes, are an excellent opportunity for baby boomers to reclaim a piece of their youth; and perhaps rekindle a sentimental moment shared with that special someone. And yet, backstage passes are indeed pieces of Rock Art valued for their artistic beauty. Whether you're a collector or a speculator (yes there is considerable price appreciation in backstage passes!!) backstage passes are a great way to grow your bottom line and add to your collection of memorabilia!

In the early 70's,OTTO Printing & Entertainment Graphics, a Cincinnati printing company, began printing passes in full
color on custom manufactured, adhesive backed rayon acetate satin cloth. Bands touring multiple cities and large venues had their backstage passes printed on large sheets, with layouts featuring multiple designs for designating tour personnel as well as different color combinations to use for each of several venues. Fewer than a thousand are then die-cut into various shapes (Rectangles, squares, triangles, ovals and circles). These limited printings are a highly valuable, rare and unique collectible.

My passes are un-used and in good condition. Most of the cloths ones still have the backing intact. Older passes may have been laminated to preserve future deterioration as exposure to air the adhesive dries out the adhesive and causes the fabric to separates and curls. {Pass colors and venues may vary}...
