This guitar is a 2002 PRS CE-22. It is completely stock, nothing has been change. It has the Dragon II pickups, mahogany body with carved maple top, bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fretboard, abalone dot inlays, black headstock veneer (makes it look more like a Custom than a CE), Phase II locking tuners, 5-way rotary pickup selector, PRS tremolo, and OHSC.

The finish on this guitar is rather unique. Its called Old Antique Gold. Its my understanding that PRS doesn't offer this finish anymore and that it wasn't very common when they did offer, I had a very difficult time figuring out what this finish was called. The finish has a nice subdued sparkle to it, it sometimes looks like a gold top, other times it looks like a greenish gold. Under stage lights, it reflects almost any color that is shining on it...orange, red, or blue lights look really cool shining off the carved top, but it looks best under green lights. Even though it isn't a transparent finish, it definitely have a maple cap, as you can see in the natural binding shown in some of the pics. Its a very nice guitar that gets noticed on stage, both for its looks and it tone.

Speaking of tone, this guitar does a fantastic job at getting both Strat-like and LP-like tones. I've owned a Custom 22 before, but that guitar was much more slanted to a LP type of tone, even in the in-between pickup settings. This guitar gets really full and fat like a LP, but the in-between pickup settings on the 5-way rotary switch have much more twang and snarl like a good Strat or Tele would. I actually like this guitar better than the Custom series because I find it much snappier and less muddy sounding, even when the humbuckers are soloed, yet it is still very rich and full-sounding.

I paid $1400 for this guitar less than a year ago and it is very similar condition to what it was when I bought it. It is in pretty good shape. There is a small gouge on the back which you can see in one of the pics, a tiny chip on the bottom of the guitar where the binding is (I tried a get a shot of this, but it didn't come out very well), and 2-3 other small dents on the front that are very small and not through the finish. There is alos a little bit of rust on the saddles of the low E, A, and D strings. I would rate it a solid 8.0/10. The action is setup for medium, but it could be set lower very easily. It is currently strung with D'addario XLs (.010-.046) and tuned to Eb. I am selling this guitar because I am primarily a bassist and I need to fund a nice 5-string bass. It is a really nice-sounding guitar that needs a new home. One more thing, I you use Buy-It-Now, I will pay for shipping & handling. Once Buy-It-Now is gone, buyer pays shipping, which will be $50 to the contintental USA (no international shipping requests, please). Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer as quickly and honestly as I can. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!
