PRiMiTiVe FALL HARVEST THYME SCARECROW RAKE DOOR HANGER

Hello PRiM Friends!

Thanks so much for Stoppin' by to take a Peek at 1 of my LATEST KREATIONS! I just absolutely LOVE how this PRiM n' GRUBBY FALL HARVEST THYME "HAYBALE HARLEY"SCARECROW RAKE DOOR HANGER turned out!!! It is CHOCKED FULL of AUTUMN CHARM and is definitely GRUNGY PRiM!!!

This SCARECROW RAKE DOOR HANGER MEASURES 27" HIGH x 13 1/2" WIDE (with the DRIED FLOWERS, PIP BERRIES, SPANISH MOSS and etc. included).

This is a ONE-OF-A-KIND, HANDMADE PRiMiTiVe PIECE that is my own CREATIVE DESIGN, there were NO PATTERNS used in making this PIECE. It all started with the Purchase of the AWESOME PRIM RAKE that "HARLEY" is sitting on, that's made out of REAL TREE TWIGS and BRANCHES, from which the whole concept of this PIECE was BORN!!! I started by making the BUST portion of "HARLEY" out of MUSLIN, which is STUFFED TIGHT with Polyfil and then COLORWASHED a SAGE GREEN COLOR, BAKED, HEAVILY SANDED, GRUNGED, BAKED AGAIN, and then RUBBED with LOTS of CINNAMON. Then I made "HOYT'S" HEAD from MUSLIN which was GRUNGED and BAKED and then had LOADS OF DETAIL ADDED! His BIG BEAUTIFUL GREEN EYES and EYELIDS are HANDPAINTED with ACRYLIC PAINTS and PRISMA PENCILS and then were SEALED with a MATTE SEALER. ACRYLIC PAINT was used to BLUSH his CHEEKS also. His Nose was made from OSNABURG and then STUFFED, COLORWASHED a WONDERFUL shade of BRICK, BAKED, and HANDSTITCHED in place on his FACE using BLACK FLOSS. The ZIG-ZAG under his EYES and his WAVY MOUTH were both HANDSTITCHED with BLACK FLOSS also. His HAIR is something VERY UNIQUE to most SCARECROWS, but he is a very SPECIAL SCARECROW I guess, because when I found this WAVY, CURLY, SILVER with LONG LIGHT GOLDEN TIPS, NEW ZEALAND WOOL that was the PERFECT SHADE for STRAW HAIR, I just knew it was for him. I attached "HARLEY'S" HEAD to his NECK by HANDSTITCHING it on the BACKSIDE, to CONNECT the two and for EXTRA STABILITY. Next, I made him a HILLBILLY-SHAPED HAT that I STUFFED, COLORWASHED the same BRICK SHADE as his NOSE, BAKED, and RUBBED with LOTS of CINNAMON. I added a BAND made of MUSLIN that was GRUNGED and put through the whole PRIM PROCESS, HANDSTITCHED a COUPLE of STEMS of WHEAT to the BAND, HANDSTITCHED a RUSTY BELL to the TIP of the HAT, and HANDSTITCHED a COUPLE of PLAID HOMESPUN SQUARES of FABRIC to the HAT using BLACK FLOSS. I made him a COLLAR out of DIRTY CHEESECLOTH and a HANDKERCHEIF NECKTIE out of the same PLAID HOMESPUN as the COORDINATING SQUARES of FABRIC that were HANDSTITCHED onto his HAT. His HANDKERCHIEF NECKTIE was also put through the whole PRIM PROCESS as well. Finally, I made a LITTLE BLACK CROW from MUSLIN, that was COLORWASHED BLACK with a PAINTED ANTIQUE GOLD BEAK, then BAKED, HEAVILY SANDED, GRUNGED, BAKED AGAIN, RUBBED with LOTS of CINNAMON and I attached the CROW to "HARLEY'S" SHOULDER. The CROW has a NEEDLE-SCULPTED BEAK and a FRENCH KNOT EYE HANDSTITCHED using BLACK CROCHET THREAD. Now, it was time for ASSEMBLY, I MOUNTED a PIECE of STYROFOAM to the TINES of the RAKE, COVERED it with LOTS of SPANISH MOSS, added a BUNDLE of a DRIED FLOWER to the HANDLE of the RAKE with RUSTY WIRE in several places, MOUNTED "HARLEY" to the STYROFOAM and TWISTED MORE RUSTY WIRE around his NECK to the HANDLE of the RAKE for EXTRA STABILITY. For a FINAL TOUCH, I added LOTS of FALL-COLORED PIP BERRIES to the MOSS COVERED STYROFOAM BASE, and RUSTY PINNED a GRUBBY HANGTAG with a HEADSHOT SKETCH of a SCARECROW along with the TEXT: "HARVEST THYME". This Piece has that PERFECTLY AGED and TIME-WORN LOOK that we all LOVE SO MUCH!

This PIECE comes with a RUSTY WIRE HANGER that's been screwed into the BACK of the HANDLE of the PRIM RAKE, for EASY and SECURE HANGING. It also comes SIGNED and DATED by me, on the BACK of one of my very own "TRIPLECREEK PRIMITIVE KEEPSAKES" BRAND CARDS. This FALL DOOR HANGER is just so WONDERFULLY PRiM, UNIQUE and ONE-OF-A-KIND TOO!!! I just KNOW that YOUR going to LOVE IT!!!
