From author (inside the book): Conny Hubbard -- Painting jars is so much fun and because they come in so many different shapes and sizes there are so many different ways of using them.  A great advantage is that they are free!  Don't worry about not finding enough jars.  Once your friends find out what you do with them they will be happy to collect them for you.  I've been painting jars for years and I have found that my friends really love this way of recycling, especially if I reward them with a painted jar now and then.  If you're really anxious to get started and you can't wait until that mayonnaise jar is empty and all the pickles are gone, (please don't eat them all at once) you can buy a box of canning jars and check out a few local yard sales.  Thrift stores are another place to find jars.  Check with you a restaurant about getting large jars.  Don't rule out plastic jars; they work as well as glass jars.
