TWO PIECES FOR ONE PRICE ARTIST SIGNEDand DATED EMILE CORIOLAN GUILLEMIN COMPOSITE BUSTS YOUNG VICTORIAN BOY AND GIRL DATED 1880 I SHIP WORLDWIDE INSURED PRIORITY MAIL POSTAGE TO FRANCE: $35.00
Being offered in this sale is a very nice pair of painted composite figural busts that were made by the noted and listed French bronze sculptor EMILE GUILLEMIN (1841 - 1907). Guillemin is more well known for his work in bronze and is referenced in THE DICTIONARY OF SCULPTORS IN BRONZE by James Mackay on page 172. Both pieces have an inscribed artist signature on the back that reads E le GUILLEMIN 1880 together with an impressed stamp that reads E. GUILLEMIN QUAI JEMMAPES 6 which I assume was the address of the artists studio located in the 10th Arrondissement in Paris. The figures measure roughly 9" (23cm) tall x 5 1/4" (13cm) in diameter. The material is some form of composite which was then painted. The condition of both pieces is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration to either piece. The patina is unworn and untouched. You will not be disappointed Please feel free to email with any questions. I always guarantee everything that I sell to be as described. The last four images illustrate a number of other pieces that I have listed separately on Ebay including a pair of art deco period French bronze figurines signed G. Omerth. You are bidding on only the Guillemin busts in this sale. This pair is being sold without a reserve as long as there is an opening bid.
