Leggera Chairs by Gio Ponti for Cassina c. 1951

Design: Gio Ponti
Manufacturer: Cassina
Origin: Italy
Year 1951
Model: 5250

For your consideration is a very early pair of Gio Ponti Leggera chairs
manufactured by Cassina. This set comes to market as a deaccession of the Denver Museum of Modern Art (documented). Having an elegant form and truly excellent design and craftsmanship, these chairs will be a perfect addition to any mid-century modern decor. These are serious chairs for the serious collector; Italian modern design at it's best by a master. One of Ponti's most important and well-known designs, this chair is an icon. Overall the chairs are in very good vintage condition. The frames show little to no wear and the seats have very little wear (please see pictures) and are taught. These are excellent side chairs and look beautiful as a stand alone chair in any room.
