This unit includes three great hardware upgrades;

1)      A BRAND NEW GLASS^* DIGITIZER – A little information about glass digitizers; Palm some years ago begin installing inexpensive plastic digitizers, prior to the m100/130/125 all Palm units had nice durable glass digitizers, after the m515 and m505 all Palm digitizers became inexpensive plastic except the Z22.  Along with this decision came a vast amount of digitizer problems, the first plastic digitizers were terrible and the currently ones are better but do not come close to the durability of our glass ones.  Some in the industry have reported up to a 20% failure rate within the first year.  Contrary to what you might think, the glass actually makes the whole unit stronger, more rigid and less likely to damage the expensive and fragile LCD, which is also glass but much thinner so it needs to be protected.  The glass digitizer is chemically strengthened which strengthens the glass up to a factor of 8; you will not find this in most other aftermarket glass digitizers.  This is a $69 upgrade – of course if you have a LifeDrive and you need the digitizer replaced we can do this.

2)      New SanDisk Ultra II memory card installed inside of the unit to replace the troublesome and slow MicroDrive.  The Flash card will be much faster and use less battery during disk operations.

3)      Preventative repairs for ROM chip failures ($49 value).  Palm forgot to apply a special adhesive under the ROM chip to help prevent cold solder joint from forming, we re solder the chips and apply a special adhesive to help prevent future failures.

*The substrate of our digitizer is glass (as with ALL glass digitizers), because of the design requirement of this type of digitizer, has a top layer that must still be a hard plastic similar to the OEM digitizer but because of internal structural changes the glass allows a much better design, improving stability and linearity.

This unit includes the best hardware upgrade available, a new FLASH DRIVE, the Flash Drive has the same capacity as the OEM MicroDrive but is much faster and uses much less battery during disk accesses.  Unlike the OEM MicroDrive there are NO moving parts to wear out which was a very common failure with this unit.  When this unit was initially released Palm decided to use the MicroDrive since Flash at that time was very expensive as a result the unit was VERY slow, now that the cost of Flash has come down this is the ONLY option because of the great increase in speed.  Also each unit has had preventative repairs done to the ROM chip, this is one of the most common failures that causes LifeDrive to stop working, a $49 value – of course we also offer this service if you have a LifeDrive that does not light up other than the charge light when plugged in.

The screen is new and better than new it is glass – there may be a few very minor scratches, if any, on the back!  FULLY tested, everything works GREAT!!!   We also repair and diagnose most all Palm models so rest assured the unit has been fully tested and verified – view my FEEDBACK for extra reassurance.

We repair ALL Palm problems.  We have repaired literally thousands of units.  We guarantee all repair work for a period of 90 days.  If you have questions we will answer them quickly and efficiently.

Warranty

All billed for service and parts are covered for a period of 90 days.  This covers workmanship, reoccurrence of original problem, and replaced part malfunction.  This does not cover physical breakage; damage caused by environmental exposure (i.e. rain, lightning, any spilled substance, etc.), or any user physical modifications. Cost of shipping is not covered and is the customer’s responsibilities, typically $5, please inquire for actual amount.
