The time to plant is NOW!
2009 flowers are as brilliant as the year before!
They have been coming back as red as the year before, year after year!

There were over 100 pods on the one plant shown below. There is something to be gained by thinning your poppy plants. I know it is hard, but in the long run, you get more blooms.

These seeds are fresh from my garden and are what is left after giving them to my friends to "Poppylate" the world!
I named these poppies "Wizard of Oz" . They remind me of Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion as they cross a field of red poppies while seeing the Emerald City in the distance. While I do not own the rights to Wizard of Oz, I am the ONLY person who has this brilliant Red Poppy with this name. If you see other sellers using the name Wizard of Oz, they have "Borrowed" it from me.
My seeds are home grown. Don't be fooled by sellers that are buying them at the grocery store and labeling them as home grown poppies just to make a sale. Grocery Store bought seeds are processed and usually not viable. There are only a few sellers on ebay who grow their own seeds, and I am one of them. I have been selling on ebay for about 11 years now.
This auction is for Red only. I also have other colors. Check out my other varities including fabulous Black Peony.
The seeds germinate freely and you will never have to buy them again, unless you want other colors, or like other gardeners, you can't stand the sight of the unsightly brown plants as they go to seed.. Your plants will produce so many seeds that they can be easily used for baking, hence the nickname "breadseed poppies".
The very last picture is a single plant, to show you how large these plants can get. This one plant produced at least 30 to 50 blooms by itself
Naturally resistant to Predators. Deer proof.
Germination testing on this years seeds were a complete sucess. I have about 90% germination
I will send 1/2 teaspoon which is about 5000 seeds. I'm not counting them, you can. I will include planting instructions upon request.
It is nearly impossible to count out thousands of poppy seeds.
The generally accepted measurements are as follows:
1/8th teaspoon - 1000 seeds
1/4th teaspoon - 2000 - 2500 seeds
1/2 teaspoon - 5000 seeds
The above seed count is an average for ALL poppy seeds. I am selling them by the measuring spoon method only and do not guarantee the exact number of seeds!!
Shipping: Buyer pays shipping. I will gladly combine shipping on 2 or more items. I charge $2.00 for the first bag of seeds and then .50 for each bag of seeds thereafter up to a maximum shipping amount of $7.50 for anything under 50 bags of seeds.
I do NOT make money on shipping! My costs are outlined below
I use only padded bubble mailers and send them as a parcel. This means in addition to the cost of the padded mailer (.49 each) and small baggies (.10 each), labels, ink etc, I also pay the surcharge for non-machinable parcel ($1.31 for a 1 ounce parcel, plus .48 cents for each additional ounce) and delivery confirmation fee(.18cents).
Checkout: I use checkout only. I do not send after auction e-mails. It is the buyers responsiblity to complete the checkout form within 3 days of the auction's end.
International Buyers – Please Note:
- Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
My seeds are guaranteed to be viable. They are easy to grow, however Your results could vary so I urge you to read my planting and growing guide to give you the best possible chance for success

Please, If you plan to buy my seeds to re-sell, I respectfully request that you do NOT use my photos, my names, my descriptions, my backgrounds or my planting instructions to do so. It against eBay policy and will be enforced. I hate to put warnings like this and apologize, but unfortunately I have had to put this disclaimer on my auctions as several so called "seed sellers" have started doing this. Evidently one of the "get rich on ebay books" promotes this type of activity.
