The seeds are freshly harvested from this summer's (2009) flowers.
 
You can't get them any fresher than this!
 
 
Produces Large, Perfect Seed Capsules.
 The vents open completely if allowed to go to seed. They are distinctive by their small hairs going up the stem and their almost perfectly round capsules. These are a florists dream. Average  size is compared to a Walnut up to a golf ball.
 
Great for Fresh Floral arrangements

These seeds are fresh from my garden and are what is left after giving them to my friends to "Poppylate" the world!

My seeds are home grown. Don't be fooled by sellers that are buying them at the grocery store (or other sellers) and labeling them as home grown poppies just to make a sale. There are only a handful sellers on ebay who grow their own seeds, and I am one of them. I have been selling on ebay for about 9 years now.

This auction is for Purples only. I also have other colors. . The seeds germinate freely and you will never have to buy them again, unless you want other colors. Your plants will produce so many seeds that they can be easily used for baking, hence the nickname "breadseed poppies".

Naturally resistant to Predators. Deer proof.

Germination testing on this years seeds were a complete sucess. I have about 90% germination

I will send 1/4 teaspoon which is about 2000 seeds. I'm not counting them, you can. I will include planting instructions with every order.

It is nearly impossible to count out 2000 poppy seeds.

The generally accepted measurements are as follows:

1/8th teaspoon - 1000 seeds

1/4th teaspoon - 2000 - 2500 seeds

1/2 teaspoon - 5000 - 8000 seeds

Shipping: Buyer pays shipping. I will gladly combine shipping on 2 or more items. I charge $2.00 for the first bag of seeds and then .50 for each bag of seeds thereafter up to a maximum shipping amount of $7.50 for anything under 50 bags of seeds.

I do NOT make money on shipping! My costs are outlined below

I use only padded bubble mailers and send them as a parcel. This means in addition to the cost of the padded mailer (.49 each) and small baggies (.10 each), labels, ink etc, I also pay the surcharge for non-machinable parcel ($1.31 for a 1 ounce parcel, plus .48 cents for each additional ounce) and delivery confirmation fee(.18cents to .80cents). The USPS rates have gone up at least twice since I first posted the info above

Checkout: I use checkout only. I do not send after auction e-mails. It is the buyers responsiblity to complete the checkout form within 3 days of the auction's end.

That was the ebay customer service persons exact wording..

so, please do not use these poppy seeds for buckshot to shoot someone. That would be illegal! I'm not quite sure why I am required to do this and none of the other seeds sellers are. But that is ebay's new rule.

 

My wording... The seeds are for beautiful flowers. They are not illegal. If you are seeking illegal items, please search elsewhere as this is NOT the place. Today I have also discussed and forwarded my listing to an FDA Field agent who tells me they are NOT regulated by the FDA!
