The most important key to successful use of the Peanut Shell® baby sling is to first get the right size. Keep in mind that the even with all of our guidance the "correct" size is what safely works for you and your baby. Most people can wear 2 different sizes-as you can in clothes. There are many factors that affect sizing so don’t hesitate to email us prior to ordering to let us help you find the size that will work best for you and your baby. Does size really matter? If you have a Peanut Shell® that is too big your baby will not feel secure and will ride too low on your body (lower than your hip bones). This is not only unsafe for your child but may also lead to back and/or shoulder discomfort. If the sling is too small you won't even be able to get the baby in or will feel like you can't breathe. Keep in mind that the correct fit of the Peanut Shell® baby sling should feel snug with baby inside BUT you should be comfortable. If you are new to sling wearing with the correct snug fit you may even think it is too small. Please use the information provided on this page to help you pick the correct size. You may also watch our video that will go over sizing. We have created our chart over time using our expertise that comes with fitting thousands of parents and have found it to be very accurate. However, as each person is shaped different and has a personal preference that all cannot be accounted for this chart is a suggestion and not a guarantee. How do I know what size to order? PLEASE NOTE: These slings are cut in between our regular LARGE & X-LARGE sizes, so they are a bit bigger than a large and a bit smaller than an x-large. If you seem to be in between the large and x-large categories, or if you fall in the large or x-large categories this sling is right for you. Keep in mind this sling is a cotton STRETCH so the fabric does have some give to it. FAQ I'm pregnant but want to buy a Peanut Shell® baby sling now If you are currently pregnant and trying out your new sling you will probably find that it feels too small. This is completely normal and we HIGHLY recommend not exchanging until after your baby is born. It is extremely difficult to determine if the sling will fit correctly until after the baby is born. You may find that once the belly goes down and with baby inside that the sling is a perfect fit! However, please keep all original packaging and invoices handy in case you do need to exchange. Q: Is there padding on the Peanut Shell® baby sling? Q: I have never worn a sling before, what Peanut Shell® baby sling is the best choice for me? Q: Do I need to adjust my sling as my baby grows?
