Pennsylvania Dutch Cookery - Food of everykind included.
Pennsylvania Dutch Cookery had its early beginnings and from it has grown the distinctive style and unique recipes that are characteristic of the early culture. Common fare included poorman's soups ssuch as Rivel and Potato. Today they are still typical, but are outnumbered by the richer ones which came into existence as the butter, meats, and vegetables became plentiful. There is always plenty of "stuff" in it, whether the soup is Beef Noodles or Chicken Corn. The kinds ar many and into most of them are put dumplings, doughballs, rivels or noodles.
