Description:

The Pentax Optio E70 Digital Camera is an excellent compact digital camera for novices thanks to its economical price and simple controls. It saves images with a maximum resolution of 10.0 megapixels, providing plenty of resolution enlargements.

The E70 features a 3x optical zoom lens with a 35-105mm equivalent angle of view, so it is great for taking group shots and landscapes as well as getting close to your subject for portraits or sports. The camera's fully automatic 'green' mode sets exposure, ISO sensitivity and other important parameters with a touch of a button making the E70's operation very easy.

Even though this camera is designed for simplicity, experienced digital photographers will enjoy the slim, lightweight body and convenient mode selection dial. Additionally, the Optio E70 uses readily available AA alkaline, lithium or rechargeable NiMH batteries. Plus, the E70 features an onboard image recovery system to retrieve accidentally-erased pictures when you are away from a computer. Overall, the Option E70 presents itself as an affordable and travel-friendly pocket camera.

• 10.0 Megapixel Resolution
The 1/2.33-inch CCD of the E70 digital camera produces high quality and detailed images capturing data for large sized prints.
• 3x Optical Zoom
The Optio E70 has a 3x optical zoom lens equivalent to a 35-105mm lens in the 35mm/full frame format. When the optical zoom is combined with the digital zoom function (up to 5.7x), the camera can attain up to a 17.1x effective zoom magnification. The camera also boasts superb macro capabilities with a minimum focusing distance of 4" in wide mode.
• Digital SR (Shake Reduction) Function
Using Digital SR reduces camera shakes and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, up to ISO 6400, enabling photography with fast shutter speeds and less blur. Movie SR is also included in the camera providing stabilization when capturing movies.
• Auto Picture Mode
The Auto Picture mode on the Optio E70 automatically determines the shooting conditions for 7 different shooting modes and selects the optimum settings for each subject.
• Face Recognition AF & AE
The Optio E70 is equipped with Face Recognition AF & AE functionality that automatically detects and focuses upon a maximum of 32 faces ensuring proper exposure regardless of where faces appear in the photo's frame. In addition, exposure settings are automatically adjusted to optimize for faces, even when backlit. The facial recognition is enhanced by Smile Capture and Blink Detection that alerts you to any less than perfect pictures.
• Record Movies with Sound
The camera can record video with accompanying audio in either VGA (640x480) or QVGA (320x240) resolution at a frame rate of either 30 or 15 fps. There is also a voice memo mode that allows users to attach a sound recording to an image.
