AMAZING QOM RUG!! This Qom rug is one of several high end pictorial silk pieces that I currently offering and it is truly a masterpiece. Authentic Qom rugs are made in the holy city of Qom in Iran and they are best known for their high end all silk rugs. Unfortunately, there has been an influx of Chinese and Indian silk rugs that look very similar to the authentic Qom rugs, but are nowhere near as luxurious and valuable. I have seen some of these rugs being sold as authentic Persian Qom rugs, and I can only advice you to be cautious.
Real Qom rugs are made of natural silk only and are extremely soft and fine. If you look at my other auctions and galleries, you will notice that I only offer genuine high end Persian rugs and my specialty is in high end Tabriz, Nain and Qom rugs. All of my rugs are purchased directly from the weavers and we also deal with a few weavers in Qom, who supply us with these fine and unique pieces.

One of the unique features in this Qom rug is the actual design of this Hunting scene, which is very rare in large Qom rugs. With a kpsi of 700, it is a very elegant Persian rug suitable for a formal room or a quiet retreat. Some of my clients also like to hang these pure silk rugs on walls and a couple had them even framed. The details in this Qom rug are just amazing and it is very well made. As with all of my Qom rugs, this one is signed which is a standard practice by most Qom weavers and you can see the signature in the last picture. Please note, that the signature is a nice novelty, but it does not add any value to the rug. Some sellers will make a big deal about the signatures and claim that the rugs are worth more if they are signed, which is absolute nonsense. Fact is that it takes a very skilled weaver to make these rugs and the addition of the signature is mostly done out of tradition. I only offer a few large Qom rugs at a time, since they are very expensive and I always look for the most unique ones. Typically, high end Qom rugs in this size one are sold in stores for around $15000 and you can expect to pay much more for unique ones like this one.
