These name plaques are not just your ordinary, regular looking wooden names. They include one or two cartoon characters of your choice next to the names or your favorite sports team. The characters can represent the type of job you do or represent you. If your friends think you are grouchy in the morning, put a grumpy character next to your name. If you are a Firefighter, Police or a Nurse, Doctor, Teacher or any other occupation, just put one of those characters next to your name. These name plaques will bring a smile to anyone's face. What you will receive if you win this auction:

This auction is for the wooden name and the character in the picture above. Please send us your name, up to 11 letters long. The 1st letter of the name will be capital and the rest of the letters will be lower case. If you want the names painted a different color, it is only $1.50 more. The color can be a single color or multiple colors, your choice. Just email us the color.
If not, it will be lightly stained. I put 1 part Old Maple Stain to 4 parts Paint Thinner in a large jar. I dip the names and base a couple of times and then wipe them off and let them dry. I stain the names and bases this way so that I can get the orders out as soon as possible. Please email the name to be personalized or add the name to the note area in the paypal invoice.

How the names are made:

The base is cut from white board into 10" lengths and then routed using an ogee bit. The base is sanded and stained. The 3/4" thick, 4 feet x 8 feet sheets of Birch Plywood are cut into 3" wide x 4 feet long strips. The names are traced onto these strips. I use a drill to cut holes into the letters so that I can insert the spiral scroll saw blades to cut the excess wood from the letters. The letters are approx. 2" to 2 3/4" tall. I then sand them and stain them.

The characters are traced and hand painted by my wife and then cut from 1/2" thick Birch Plywood. After drilling holes into the characters, I also use a spiral scroll saw blade to cut the excess wood from the character from inside and outside of the characters. I attach the names and the characters to the base with 1/8" thick wooden dowels and glue. The dowels add extra support and make the joining stronger. This is not cheap, regular plywood. We feel that the type of wood that we use makes the colors look sharper and brighter. After everything is complete and dry, we then apply polyurethane to the character for long lasting shine and easy cleaning.

Please allow between 7 to 15 business days for the name plate to be completed. The sooner you buy and pay for the name, I put your order in line.

Additional information regarding the name plaques: If we make an error in the spelling of the name, and it is our error, we will replace the name free. However, if you send us the wrong spelling, (we keep all the emails), and we are not at fault, if you still want the name, you would need to purchase a new name.
