A Bit Of History About Perth Pewter

      Concerning Perth Pewter, like most of you, I thought that Perth Pewter was no longer in business. I couldn't have been more wrong! Perth Pewter's original Owner, and Founder was Ian Carter, known to most as John Carter. John started his Company around 1973 called, Superior Models inc. It was mainly a Hobby Company, making Models of World War 2 Submarines and Ships. He also did quite a bit of Contract Work for other Companies. Then in 1975, when Pewter was becoming quite popular, he started a Sub-Division of Superior Models Inc. Called, Perth Pewter Designs and Collectibles. In the beginning, most of the Perth Pewter Designs were created by the Artist James Lane Casey, Ron Spicer, Ray Lamb, and John Dennett.
      The Current Owner of Perth Pewter, Peter Stachowiak, was not only John's Apprentice, he was also like John's Son. Peter started working with John in 1983. John shared ALL of his Knowledge and Secrets with Peter, concerning the ''Tricks of the Trade'' of Pewter Designs, Molds, etc, knowing that someday, Peter would be taking over Perth Pewter.
      Peter, at the young age of four, had already developed a love for working with metal, as he would help his Father cast sinkers and small soldier figurines. So, it was no surprise to Peter's Family that he would follow his dream and work with Pewter.
      In 1998 John Carter Retired. Just as John had planned, Peter then took over the company, having all Copyrights to Perth Pewter Designs and still maintaining a Working Relationship with the Artist behind the Perth Pewter Designs.
      Ian John Carter passed away in March of 2002. His Legacy will continue to live on through Perth Pewter, with Peter maintaining the High Standards, Craftsmanship, and Quality, just as John had always done.
      Peter not only worked with James Lane Casey, After the Passing of Mr. Ian John Carter, they were also friends, with Peter even having visited Lane at his home on several occasions. In 2003 Mr. James Lane Casey started working on another Limited Edition for Perth Pewter, along with several other items for Peter. Mr Casey had already given and released a number of designs to Peter before his death, that have not yet been released to the public, through Perth Pewter. There are approximately 25 to 30 New Designs From Mr. James Lane Casey, and hopefully soon, Peter will be able to cast these ''Never Before Released Through Perth Pewter Items''! The New Items will have Mr. James Lane Casey's Signature on them, as he had already signed the Original Design before releasing them to Peter.
      Concerning the Perth Pewter Limited Editions, only 2500 are made of each Design. Thus making the Limited Edition's value Increase Greatly. Insurance Companies have even called Peter to evaluate the worth of these Collectibles, as their clients need to have them insured due to their value increasing so exponentially. For Example: The Limited Edition of ''The Wind Wizard'' sold originally for $175.00 to $200.00. The Value Now for a Signed and Numbered Limited Edition of ''The Wind Wizard,'' is $3500.00 and the Value for an Artist Proof is $5000.00. Each Limited Edition Pewter Design comes with a Signed Letter Of Authenticity, the Item itself is Numbered, and has the Artist Signature. The signature of the Artist is already on the Original Design that the Artist Created, thus when the item is cast in Pewter, the signature is already there. When creating a Limited Edition, the 2500 limit of the items are not always made at once. That is why we are still able to offer some of the Limited Edition items. After the 2500 limit has been reached, these items will no longer be in circulation, as they will be Officially Retired. These Items are the Actual Artist Designs, Created Especially for Perth Pewter's Limited Edition Series. There are several Designs that we will not be able to offer due to the 2500 limit having been reached. The Beauty of the Limited Edition's is incredible as well as being very ornate, with many crystals placed in just the perfect place to accent these gorgeous works of art.
      Just to Name a few of the Artist; James Lane Casey who designed several of the Highly Sought After Limited Editions, Extremely Ornate Dragons, Medieval Castles, and Figurines that the Wiccan Community absolutely Loves, whose work will still live on as a Tribute to his Life and Art, as he Passed on November, 19th 2005. Ron Spicer: also noted for The Incredible work he did for the Franklin Mint. Ray Lamb: noted for several of the Ornate Limited Editions, in addition to a few of the Sensual Nude Designs. John Dennett, who is noted for his Gorgeous Limited Edition Designs, Fairy Figurines, Fantasy Sculptures, Sensual Nudes, and his Inspiring Native American Designs. Jim Payette who was known for his Fairy Figurines, his very Sexy, Erotic, and Seductive Nudes, and his Beautiful Native American Designs, whose work is a great monument to his life; unfortunately he passed not too long after John Carter. Steven or Stephan Tofano, an Extremely Talented Artist who is not only noted for his Incredible Designs for Perth Pewter but also for the Exclusive Private Collection that he designed for President Ronald Reagan, his Beautiful Designs for Goebel Art Inc, Lennox, and the Smithsonian Institute. Currently he is happily teaching. There are many Talented Artists who have contributed to the Perth Pewter Designs.
      Shari Stachowiak, Peter's Beloved Wife, Wonderful Mother to their Talented Children, Peter's Soul Mate, and the Love of his Life, helped Peter out tremendously, keeping him organized and handling the promotional work, along with inspiring him, while he worked on his Expertise Pewter Art. Her wish for him was for the company to thrive, but due to her untimely passing of this world, Peter's promotional work greatly decreased. Peter, wanting something near and dear to Shari, took one of her favorite earrings, made a mold which he then cast in pewter, creating his Dragonfly Pin.
      Shari was so very loved by everyone that knew her and Peter wanting to share something that was dear to her with all of their friends, started giving them the Dragonfly Pins, in remembrance of her Life and the lives that she touched. He now sends a Pewter Dragonfly Pin to everyone that makes a purchase in remembrance of her Wonderful, Inspirational, Kind, and a Smile-From-The-Heart life that she so willingly shared with everyone around her. So, with every box that goes out, you will receive one Dragonfly Pin.
      With both John Carter and Shari Stachowiak having passed, understandably Peter felt a lack of enthusiasm for promoting his work during this grief stricken time period of his life. Consequently, most people think that Perth Pewter is no longer in production. However, this statement couldn't be further from the truth. Perth Pewter is thriving and growing every day. I Personally feel very blessed to have met Peter and to help him get Perth Pewter running strong. I also want to give Much Credit to the Ebayer that e-mailed me, (which I just recently had the privilege of speaking with him via the phone, to give him a proper Thank You: ) as Artie was the exceptionally nice person that informed me that Perth Pewter was very much alive!!! Artie, enabled me to to enrich my own life, as Peter has become a most Dear Friend, along with his Terrific Children, whose Manors and Talents are Amazing!!! After seeing the Pewter Designs that these wonderful children have already created, I do believe that they will keep the Family Tradition, of working with Pewter, and keeping Perth Pewter running strong for future generations to enjoy.

      All Of the Perth Pewter Items that I am listing are New and in Perfect Condition!!! Most Items will need to be cast, as the Demand for Perth Pewter Items is Growing Very Strong!
      Since Perth Pewter was originally a Sub-Division of Superior Models, Some of the items will have the Superior Models Logo along with the Artist Signature on the bottom of the item, while other items will have the Perth Pewter Logo along with the Artist Signature on the bottom. Some items will even have both the Superior Models and the Perth Pewter Logo on the bottom. The Original Owner, John Carter, did not find it necessary to immediately change the Logo from Superior Models, on the bottom of the items, over to Perth Pewter, even though he was selling the items under the Perth Pewter Name. Nor did he change some of the items from Superior Models over to Perth Pewter on the bottom of the Item. So, even though some of the items may say Superior Models on the bottom, they are very much Authentic Perth Pewter Items and Signed by the Artist that created the Design. A couple of the Artist, whose names I can't reveal due to anonymity, went under a Ghost Name for a short period of time. This also means that a few of the items will have the Ghost Signature on the bottom of the item, instead of their actual name. These items are few, which makes them even more Special!!!
      All items that I have listed are Authentic, ALL Limited Editions Do Come with The Letter Of Authenticity, Signed by The Artist. They are Guaranteed to be Authentic. Most all Designs are signed by the Artist, with James Lane Casey using a Rune signature of his initials, JLC , on all of his Designs; his Limited Editions are unique in that he also signs his full name. A few of the Nudes were never signed by the artist, although I will be able to let you know who the artist was that created them. All Perth Pewter Items Are Guaranteed to be Authentic Perth Pewter Designs!!!
      The Low Numbered Limited Editions, #1 through #10, Are Highly Sought After Collectors Items, owned by Peter, Owner of Perth Pewter. Limited Editions Numbered 1 through 10 were always reserved for the Artist, The Owner of Perth Pewter, or to give to Friends if so desired.
