Dorothy Sayers (1893-1957) was a long-time friend and colleague of the Inklings, the writers group that included JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and Charles Williams. Although never "officially" part of the group, she did collaborate on some works, including Essays Presented to Charles Williams. She is known for her doctrinal books and Christian plays written in the 1940's and 50's, as well as her earlier Lord Peter Wimsey detective novels from the 1920's and 30's.
