This is a set of 25 Rune stones that have been HAND CUT and polished matching set. (set #17) The material is "Petrified Wood" The pieces have been cut to about .75" in length. (they do vary some) The thickness is approx. 1/4" This is a VERY nice assorted Petrified Wood set. Some is agate, some is agate & opal petrified wood. There are pieces you can see through the agate areas when you hold them up to light. You can see all the wood grain/growth lines in the pieces. This shows that it is high quality material.

Since each stone was "hand cut" they are FLAT on both sides. These are not just a group of tumbled stones that someone purchased and wrote on. Each is also hand engraved and painted. The hand made leather bag (you see in the photo) comes with.

A friend, and fellow "rockhound" makes each and every set by hand.

Folks who have purchased these say they are the best they have seen sold, especially "online." They say they were so surprised when they saw how nice the material is and how pleased they were with the set! WELL WORTH THE PRICE!

THE PROCESS: Slabs are cut from large stones/material. Each slab takes 20-30 minutes to cut w/ a large, diamond blade in a rock saw. It takes several slabs to make a set. Then, each stone is cut from the 1/4" slabs. They are hand cut on a "trim saw" with a diamond blade. It is a slow steady process. The cuts stones are then ground smooth and then polished. This stage takes about 1-week. The cutting takes hours and hours to do. The diamond blades are VERY expensive. She puts a lot of love and pride into her work. She selects nice material to work with. A lot of the material has been collected by her personally, from many states. Some material is purchased as it cannot be mined by individuals, etc.

I believe, that once you see the quality of these sets, you will want more. In the past, people have ask for more sets and even custom sets.!
