Piece of Rare OPAQUE ORANGE-YELLOW Beach Sea Glass

A piece of rare BRIGHT OPAQUE ORANGE-YELLOW beach picked sea glass, found on a remote beach in the Pacific Northwest.

Yellow is one of the rarest seaglass colors, and this is fairly nice example of the opaque orange-ish variety. The interesting thing about opaque yellow (apart from the fact that it chips like crazy and almost always shows up in lousy condition) is that very rarely is the color "clean;" most often there are brown spots and inclusions-- possibly the result of a chemical reaction of some kind. This piece is quite smooth, apart from the small black inclusions.

It is in nice condition, with mostly "all-over" frosting and soft rounded edges-- dark spots as you can see in the photo, but no serious problems. It measures about 1/2" (13mm) long by almost 1/2" (12mm) across and is nearly 5/16" (7mm) thick, at thickest. Very presentable piece in a rare color!
