Beautiful Pink Spatter "Leaf Mold" Sauce / Berry Dish by Northwood Glass Company
This beautiful dish was produced by the Northwood Company, Indiana, Pennsylvania in the 1890's.
This dish has only 3 minor flecks along the rim. They are not noticeable unless you look hard for them.
This piece is part of my extensive glass collection, and I am parting with it simply because I need to pay for my son's college tuition in August. It is beautiful, and I hope it finds a wonderful home with someone who will enjoy its beauty for many years to come.
Please note that pieces from this period are prone to have characteristics that are less than perfect because they were sculpted in less than ideal production environments. However, this is one more thing that contributes to the individuality of each piece made. Many of the inconsistencies such as the issues of color vary greatly between each piece, and closed air bubbles, straw marks, ash spots, irregular pattern definition and handle attachment, etc are not considered flaws by serious collectors.
