These gorgeous shoes are hand-made in the medina of Fez in Morocco, in a shop near the leather tanneries. Fez is reknown worldwide for its beautiful and high-quality leather handicrafts.
The leather is hand-dyed in a beautiful pink color and embroidered with beads, sequins and silk thread.
The name for these in Morocco are "babouches" and they are very fashionable to wear dressed "up" or "down."
These are real leather shoes, made in Fez, and there is a mark of authenticity on the bottom. The toe comes to a fashionable narrow point and the beading and sequined pattern is in the shape of a flower. There is a wooden bead at the top.
They are very beautiful and different, and you will be the recipient of many compliments!
They are a size 8 to 8.5 and measure about 10 inches from toe to heel. The shoes are marked as a 41, or size 9, but we find that women who wear size 8 or 8.5 are more comfortable. The shoes fit better when there is a bit of extra room for your foot. The heel is 1.5" (3 cm), and there is an embroidered design inside the shoe.
The shoes were purchased in Fez, Morocco and carried home lovingly. They are brand-new and never worn. There are some small marks on the inside of the instep, but will not take away from the beauty. The person who wins this auction is going to be dazzled by these shoes.
