This cassette deck works great and does record. With the pitch control you can speed up or slow down the beat and learn it. Everything works on this deck. The deck has not been used in awhile and it would help to use it regular so that it can continue to work. The buttons are suppossed to be a lite touch, but sometimes you have to make sure you press the button firm enough to engage the solinoids. The top has some light surgace rust, scratchs and scuffs. The face and knobs are in great shape except someone has engraved there social security number on the top plate above the cassette it is small, but it is there. This is a very well built cassette deck that works fine. If you have any questions you can call 707-373-2804 and ask for Barry. I will also have to collect $10.00 for packing materials since it is heavy and requires some extra care in getting it to you in the same condition its in now. I only ship USA and Canada.
