Report itemNASCAR Style Pit Box Diorama Base #3 • This Is A Scratch Build Parts Kit • This is 1/24 Scale (Works in 1/25 scale as well) ½ inch = 1 foot This graphic sheet and plastic parts are what is known as a scratch build kit. That means it will need trimming and sanding as well as your need to paint the base and add the lines to complete this model. It is HRCStore item PBK-01. Included with the parts are clear, easy instruction sheet that shows you the process/layout of building this pit box diorama base. While you could choose to make your own pit box diorama from wood or foamcore. Those surfaces are less resitant to damage than the plastic we use. Our base and wall are cut from a GE product called Komatex®. They are 3/8 inch thick. The plastic works more like a wood product than styrene plastic. It drills, cuts and sands easily. It works with common plastics glues and takes and holds paint well. We use two-part epoxy and spray enamels when we work with it. The base is 9½ X 13 inches and the pit wall is 9½ X 1¼ inches.
