An interesting document on legal sized paper. Manuscript. Dated July 18, 1881. A notice of amendment for an existing Placer Claim in Siskiyou County California. Legal description of the claim boundaries. In part it reads: "This claim shall be known as the Murphy Consolidated amendatory location No. 8 in callan Region Mining District Siskiyou County". Listed are names of the locators and witnesses that signed the document. Including James, Wm., Thomas and Owen Muir, DP Stevens, W.G. Hughes and C. Carter. Item measures 8 1/2 x 14 inches. Creases and folds. Good condition. Thanks for looking.
