Styrene (Also Known as Polystyrene) is an excellent choice.
It is versatile and can easily
be molded to make anything that you need a durable plastic for.
It is used for signs, can be vacuumed formed, molded into any part.
For the modeler that doesn't like a particular part
in a kit, or the part that just doesn't fit properly and needs a
sturdy plastic to make a new part. Or to the adventerous modeler that can't find a kit for the right purpose,
this plastic is suitable to build your own projects. A good knife or scissors
to cut it is all that you need. Styrene sheet plastic is used by Railroad
Modelers to build complete citys. Paint adheres nicely without much prep.
