I'm pleased to offer this beautiful original Plein Air oil painting titled Rocky Mountain Summer. It is painted on a stretched 24 x 18 inch archival canvas with archival oil paints in impressionist style. The canvas is gallery wrapped and the staples are on the back. A signed Certificate of Authenticity is shipped with the painting.

This is a view of a Rocky Mountain valley far in the distance nestled between three peaks. It was probably carved by a glacier millennia ago and now it comes to life in the early Summer. below the valley is a still lake the reflects the beauty of the scene. Evergreen trees are surrounding the lake as ancient guardians. There is very little breeze and the silence is at first stunning. An occasional hawk cry echos through the valley as they soar above the peaks in search of the next meal for their newly-hatched chicks. It's wonderful to be hiking and turn the corner of a path and gaze upon this grandeur.

The colors on your screen are accurate to the original but remember that they will vary from monitor to monitor and a photo does not capture the colors or intricacy of the actual painting. The painting is sold unframed. This picture will frame to approximately 30 x 24 inches and look great in a living room, a den, an office, a bedroom, a family room or a vacation home:

This is one of a series of my Plein Aire paintings of various locations in the American West. The West has many beautiful sights to inspire a painter: the powerful Pacific Ocean, the river rapids and glass-calm lakes, the rolling foothills and majestic Rocky and Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the strangely serene deserts. I can't wait to get back out there!
