This is an excellent example of 19th century maritime paintings, executed 1886 by the talented artist Jessie Ball.  Rich jewel like tones are used throughout the painting, distinguishing Ball as a master of the maritime genre. His skill is exhibited most strikingly in his expert rendering of the water. The waves are painted in a manner that truly conveys their power, infusing them with vital energy. . This painting measures 19.5” x 26.5” in totality and is presented in an exquisite, highly ornate, gold wood frame. In addition to being signed by the artist, this painting is also accompanied by a CERTIFICATE of AUTHENTICITY and a notarized AFFIDAVIT of PROVENANCE.
