A DECENT OBSOLETE CURRENCY FROM THE SCARCE STATE OF MAINE !!!!  The Casco Bank, Portland, ME, $5.00 dollar obsolete currency note,  dated ?? Oct 1, 1832, Red FIVE underprint.  Reverse is blank and also SIGNED E. Hoffau.  This is a spurious note Listed as Wait-83, Rarity 5 out of 7 being the most scarce.  Grades net about Good to Very Good with partial upper right corner missing and holed with a few rough spots on the edges. Reverse scan available on request.  GREAT VIGNETTE OF 3 SHIPS SAILING, SEATED WOMAN WITH SWORD AND PORTRAIT OF MILLARD FILLMORE TO THE RIGHT.  IMPRINT:  Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co., Philada. & New York.  A scarcer Maine note and seldom found complete (usually with pieces mising and several rips.)
