Potassium alum is also known as aluminum potassium sulfate dodecahydrate is a white, crystalline powder, which is odorless, having a cool, saline taste. Soluble in water and has a density of 1.67. Melting point 61 degrees Celsius.  Non-toxic. It's uses include - baking powders, ceramics, mordants ,dry colors, tanning, paper size precipitant, matches, ink, engraving, sugar refining, water purification, medicine, media for crystal growing, confectionery, and food additives. Per USPS Publication 52, this material is not regulated, non-hazardous, can be legally shipped and it is sold, packed, labelled, shipped in compliance with their guidelines. Packaged in a high density pothethylene container. Shipping $7.50. Multilple winning auctions will be combined to lessen shipping costs (2 lbs. - $9.50, 3-6 lbs.- $12.50).
