such as a wireless access point, near a power outlet. The EPE-5818af
Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) device delivers both data and
electrical power to Ethernet-enabled devices using a single Ethernet cable.
This PoE is 802.3af compliant. It provides a
+48VDC/0.375A power supply with standard pin definition of Ethernet cable.
Pin#1,2,3 and 6 with data transmission; pin # 4,5,7 and 8 with power enabled to
device. This PoE generates safe power over category 5
(CAT-5) cabling. By sending 48V, Ethernet terminals such as wireless
LAN access point, IP phone, and web camera are powered remotely. It is
especially design for outdoor networking facility and low port density
installations. It is recommended that the CAT-5 cable length not exceed 300 feet
(91.4-meters). This
unit is Brand New and comes with a
12-month
limited warranty.
What is PoE: PoE
(Power-over-Ethernet) eliminates the need to run 110/220 VAC power to wireless
Access Points / Client Bridges and other devices on a wired LAN. Using PoE,
system installers need to run only a single CAT-5 Ethernet cable that carries
both power and data to each device. This allows greater flexibility in the
locating of Access Points and other network devices as well as significantly
decreasing installation costs in many cases. PoE begins with a CAT-5 "PoE
Injector" that inserts a DC Voltage onto the CAT-5 cable. The Injector is
typically installed near the Ethernet switch or hub or router. The equipment you
want to power using a PoE device must be PoE compatible. The usual cable length
from the PoE device to the equipment to be powered is recommended not to exceed
300 feet (91.4 meters).

Unfortunately carriers sometimes take longer than their published transit time and this is beyond our control.

in a 48-hour period, we will ship all items in one package. This usually provides a shipping and handling discount of 10% or more per item (if shipping costs were figured individually for each item).
