Description |
It is believed throughout the tea world that the Chinese province of Yunnan, which borders Laos, Vietnam, Burma, and Tibet, is the birthplace of the world’s first tea plantations. The tea there is grown at very high elevations ranging from 4500-6000 feet above sea level. The altitude, combined with the warmth and humidity of the highlands creates a natural greenhouse that Yunnan tea plants thrive in. Our selected handmade black tea like most Yunnan teas is known by its full-bodied and slightly sweet flavor. It is is famous for its fat golden buds. Tea brewed from good black tea has a reddish brown color. The aroma is strong sugary and floral with a slight roasted undertone. The taste is smooth and sweet and the aftertaste is refreshing and clean. The tea leaves the mouth tasting as clean as spring water. And it energizes the body and mind more harmoniously than the best of coffees.
Golden Snail is the perfect tea for food, marrying well with a wide variety of dishes. It is also an excellent tea for a relaxing afternoon tea time.

Prepare: The water used to steep this tea should be at the boiling point, 212F (100F). Use about 2 teaspoons (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces (150 milliliters) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes with more or less time is recommended depending on the desired concentration.
*****Black tea is a completely oxidized (fermented) tea. Black tea, or as it is known in China - hong cha (red tea), was originally only for export to the foreign markets. In China it is called red tea in reference to the color of the infused liquid or to the red edges of the oxidized leaves, as opposed to the color of the main body of the processed tea leaves. At one time, black tea was considered of lesser quality and not desired by the Chinese themselves and therefore, was exported. Which is why, to this day, black tea is what everyone outside of China thinks of when talking about tea, whereas, tea in China is understood to mean green tea.
Black tea is also known as "Congous" in the international tea trade business. The name Congous is actually taken from the Chinese term Gongfu or Kung-Fu. Northern Congous are also referred to as black leaf Congous, "the Burgundy of China teas", and southern Congous as red leaf Congous, "the Claret of China teas".
Black tea leaves come from the same tea plant, Camellia sinensis as does all real tea, but probably the best comes from the Assam subvariety of the plant, Camellia sinensis Assamica, or a hybrid. The infused leaf is a reddish copper color and the liquor is bright red and slightly astringent but not bitter. The important difference is in the processing of the tea leaves, which makes black tea different from the other kinds of tea.
Black tea's caffeine is approximately 3 %, which is the highest of all the different kinds of tea, but still lower than coffee. |

Shipping rates are based solely upon the actual weight of the item and packing (box, foam wrap, etc.). Our shipping charges include packaging, handling, shipping and insurance. According the policy of China Post, we have to arrange shipping as registered SAL/air/EMS parcels. This will take up to 35 days (Usually much quicker), depending on different shipping methods and your distance from China.

Standard Flat Rate Shipping

Expedited Shipping
10 days shipping via air options are available. Prices are dependent upon order weight and destination. Please contact us for a shipping quote. (Please note that expedited shipping is not available on wholesale or bulk orders.)
Tracking Numbers
The majority of orders shipped by Dragon Tea House are sent via SAL with a delivery confirmation number. This number only details the shipping date and delivery date after it has occurred; it is not a real-time tracking number. Only orders that have been shipped via EMS  means receive a tracking number which will be e-mailed to the customer.
Customs
Customers may be subject to import duties and taxes. We will, however, only charge you for the purchase price, shipping and handling for your item(s). Any additional charges incurred at customs clearance must be paid for by you.
Shipping Damages & Loss
Orders over 100 are insured which protects against shipping damage and loss by the carrier. Customers are given the option to receive an exact item or refund. Inspect all orders immediately upon arrival. Within 72 hours of receipt, report any damages to us. If it has been over 40 days since your order date and it has not been received, contact Dragon Tea House to investigate the location of your order. While we will work quickly to locate, send another one or refund your purchase, please allow up to 15 days for resolution. For non-insured orders , we can provide you with proof of shipping and the delivery confirmation number to contact your local post office, as well as help with an investigation.

Return Policy

Return/Exchange unwanted products within 3 days of receipt. Shipping will not be refunded for returns on unwanted items and exchanged products may be charged a shipping fee. We do not accept returns on any used products . Items must be returned in original packaging and in resale condition.

Dragon Tea House will send another one (with like product) or refund any defective product within 30 days of customer receipt. Shipping will be reimbursed for the return and change of defective items. No refunds are made for sentimental losses or for any expenses incurred as a result of the loss.
Return Procedure
- All returns must have a Return Authorization to be accepted and processed. If you need to return or exchange products for any reason please contact Dragon Tea House. State the order number, product, and reason for the return. We cannot be responsible for items shipped back to Dragon Tea House without pre-approval.
- You will receive e-mail confirmation when your return is received and processed. To file a claim send us a picture of the damaged item, with the original packaging, via e-mail within 3 days of the receipt of your item.
- Returned items must be received and inspected by Dragon Tea House prior to reimbursement or shipping the same items.
- Credits/refunds will be issued in the manner in which they are paid. Regardless of the reason of return (unwanted item or defective/damaged item) please allow 15 days for return processing and refund.

Dragon Tea House offers a special discount to anyone who would like to purchase our products in bulk quantity. The % discount depends on the amount of items purchased and is applied to the regular retail price. Free shipping may or may not apply to these orders. Please contact us with any large item purchase inquiries to receive an order quote, discount and a current inventory evaluation. When the order has been agreed upon an invoice will be e-mailed or sent. Orders are processed when payment is received.
Product Availability & Backorders
Dragon Tea House offers a variety of brands and products that are usually in stock and our inventory is replenished each week. Rarely an item may be on temporary or extended backorder from the manufacturer. We make every effort to list on the product page any backorder information that is available. Once you have made your purchase, if an item is out of stock we will contact you immediately. You will be notified if the item is anticipated to take longer than two weeks to be received. You have the option to cancel the backordered items (regardless of wait time) and receive a refund.
