That is all that is being sold in this auction, this unit is sized for a typical grid tied home, but that is the nice thing about grid tie, if you need more power than it is making at the time the required power invisibly comes from the grid. This system is sized and designed to provide power to a full-time Grid-tie home, office or cabin, its pure grid tie, so that means that when the grid is down no power is available for the house. If you have a lot of power outages or your business cannot afford power outages look at my other systems that include a hybrid grid tie inverter and batteries. If you are looking for a part-time home package, I have other auctions for that need. You will need to provide the minor electrical wiring, etc. required and ground solar panel mounts (you can also use roof mounts or trackers, all of which I can supply). You will need to install a 30 amp 240 volt circuit breaker in your current wiring panel. That circuit breaker will then be connected with 3 wires to the Xantrex GT Inverter to deliver the power to your house and back to the grid if you produce excess electricity. Local codes will determine what parts of this systems wiring needs to be in conduit, if any. This inverter includes all the circuit breakers and disconnects that are usually required by utilities, but you will need to determine if your local electrical board or utility has additional requirements. Get complete details of each item in following description sections. With this set you should be able to run a well equipped full-time solar home which delivers extra power to the grid and take any necessary power from the grid. This system will run everything in your house just like the utility, since it is an invisible part of your utility power. You will need to get your utility to supply you with a net metering system to account for the extra power you deliver back to the grid.

To get a good estimate of the output potential of this system, I suggest you go to a Department of Energy site "in my backyard" a solar output and wind output estimator

This program uses the PVWATTS government program that estimates actual power output from your location based on historical weather and solar output information and should provide a very good guesstimate of actual power output. To use this progarm click on IMBY and type in your address and click find. Then chose solar and and click DRAW and double click on your roof to allow you to go to the next step (if you want to do more with the draw option, read the instructions in the help section of that page). Then go down to step 2 and type 5.2 in the Size box. If your mounting location (Roof, Ground, or Pole mount) points true south and is sloped the same as the tilt angle you are done. If not you need to enter the proper numbers for your mounting location. When you click RUN it will show your estimated solar power output along with some return estimates.
In the payback section the return estimates are based on fully installed cost from a relatively high priced installer. The system they use by default is for a pure grid tie system that is fully loaded with panels, which is the same type of system described here. For this system put in $4.60 for cost per watt for this system as shown since that should be your self installed cost on a ground or pole mount system. The package will provide an estimate of tax credits, power company credits, and payback plus your monthly power production. You can adjust most everything in the program so feel free to experiment! Again no guarantees on actual rebates received or power output, but this is the best first pass system I have found.

Solar Panels:
Schott is a US manufacturer of industrial grade solar panels, panels built for reliability and long life. Their solar manufacturing company has developed high quality semi-crystalline solar panels that provide high power in a moderate sized panel. Each of these panels is rated at 290 watts of very reliable solar power. The Solar panels are covered by a 20 year, 80% power output warranty and a 5 year manufacturer's material and defects warranty. For this application you would wire these panels in groups of 8 panels with the 8 panels wired in series using the built-in Multi-Contact solar connectors. The two sets would then be connected together using 2 multi-contact 2-1 combiners. This package is designed to deliver up to 5.0 KW of power back to the utility in a grid-tie system. The package of panels included in this auction is designed to meet that full output with full sun days. This Xantrex GT 5.0 KW inverter takes the series wired DC power from each set 8 solar panels and converts it to 208 or 240 VAC and delivers that electricity to the utility net meter. This package includes the required multicontact combiners and cables to connect the solar panels to the grid tie inverter (less than 50 feet separation). This allows you to connect the panels together and connect them to the inverter with just the items provided in the package.
