Where did these coins come from? In ancient times there were no banks. So ancient people had to keep their coins in other places like pots or vases. These "Hoards" were then found in modern times by a metal detector. these coins come from the Syrian area of the Greek empire. What you can expect to find? Most of the coins date back from 700 bc- 150 AD. Most are Greek but I have noticed some larger greek imperial or roman provincial issues. All of these coins are guarenteed to show detail either before or after cleaning! Most coins have what is called a "desert" patina which is brightly colored sand that highlights the coins' attributes. This makes these coins incredibly unique and unavailable by other dealers! Most of these coins will be 11-28 mm in diameter and come from the later Roman empire. You will find coins from Alexander the great and Philip II. Even some coins of the great Cleopatra and Ptolemy have been spotted. All coins are intact as received and NOTHING has been taken out or kept by myself. There is absolutly no junk coins! There are 0 flat, completely smooth, harshly chipped, or holed junk! Although there might be a few that have minor edge damage. Anyone that sells these sever "Cull" of coins in their lots knows better and you do not diserve to spend your precious time or money on them! THESE ARE ALSO SO EDUCATIONAL AND A MUST HAVE FOR ANY CHILD TO LEARN!!! They are a great project for boy scouts and can keep whole troops entertained and intrigued for hours cheaply!
