ABOUT THE ARTIST
An artist making a name for himself in unusual ways, Jason Baalman's work is certain to grow as a collectible. He has received media attention worldwide with a mixture of unusual media and performance art. He has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman and various channels/publications across the world. His popular YouTube channel eclecticasylumart is among YouTube's most subscribed with millions of views (sample videos below).


Born in 1976, Jason Baalman was raised in Houston Texas. The early years were spent in studios under the mentorship of many artists. His work was first exhibited at the age of 8 and received numerous awards in juried shows throughout Texas. At the age of 10 he turned professional and competed at this level for another year. Art became a hobby at this time and continued as a self instructed passion. In 1995 Jason moved to Los Angeles to attend The University of Southern California where he studied Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience with a research emphasis in visual perception. After a short career in creative consulting, design, marketing, and computer programming he move to Colorado Springs in 2003 to reinvigorate his passion for traditional artforms. For two years he relaxed as a professional chocolatier. In 2005 he opened the Eclectic Asylum Studio in Colorado Springs to explore his diverse creative interest.
