This pressure switch is for the Millivolt heaters. If your pool heater has a pilot light, it is a millivolt heater. This pressure switch has 3 adaptable fittings, and that is is the reason that the 3902 is preferred by most swimming pool service people. They can carry one pressure switch and it works on almost all Millivolt heaters.

The pressure switch is the leading cause of heater failure. If your heater won't fire whenit needs heat (and the pilot is lit), do 2 steps to see if the pressure switch is defective.

  1. Clean filter, if sand,backwash filter. If cartridge, pull element out of tank and run filter without element. If DE filter, take tank apart and clean.
  2. Place jumper wire across Pressure switch, with the pump running.

If the heater fires up. replace pressure switch. Do not leave jumper wire on the heater.
