Antique Primitive Early Bentwood Grain Sieve Sifter-Farmhouse Look
Description
Up for auction is this very primitive early round grain or berry sieve or sifter. I bought this at a farm auction just as shown about 20 years ago. It is in fairly good shape for the age. On one side the wire has come loose from the wood. You will see the small area on the wood where it has been broken or chipped off. The wire is very thick and not at all like the flimsy mesh, so it had to be used for larger items to sift. I have no idea how old it is. It has staples holding it together. I have tried to show different photos of each area. If you need to see more, just email.
Size: About 4" tall (out of round in areas) and 17" across. Very large size!
Such a neat primitive item to hang on the wall in your early farmhouse.
