This is a bold abstract-expressionist painting that captures an aboriginal design. The artwork is acrylic on canvas on stretcherboard and measures 16" X 20". It is signed on the stretcherboard "Maryann Neubert" and dated "2003".  The painting continues on two sides of the stretcherboard and the artist again signed her initials and the date on the side of the painting. The piece is titled "Trio" according to the information on the back of the painting. Dominating colors are red, black and gold. The pattern of dots against the bold red and black background really makes them "pop" to the eye. this piece reminds me so much of the aboriginal art of Australia that I have to think that is what the artist intended. The person from whom I purchased this fine art, described it as "tribal" and it indeed has that feel. I believe it was intended to be vertical but it works either way.
