Christmas Santa Wool Beard Make-Do
on Antique Bobbin

This is a large piece. It stands 25" high.
It is attached to a 12" high antique wood bobbin.
Santa's head measures 15".
Here's a close-up of his eyes and eyebrows.
They are made from lamb's wool and so is his beard.
It's a little hard to see, but his eyes are painted on blue.
Here's a side view of Santa's head.
You can see his pinch stitched nose and lips.
I've dry brushed a little red on his cheeks
to give him a rosy look and also on his lips.
Santa is made from coffee-stained muslin.
His hat is red ticking and it was distressed
and made to look old with coffee staining and cinnamon.
I've hung a rusty bell from the tip with a rusty safety pin.
Here's a look from the back.
As you can see, Santa's head is securely
attached to the bobbin with jute twine.
