Introducing my new Santa doll I call Father Christmas! I am very proud of how he turned out. He is 29” tall, and he has a body made from aged osnaburg fabric with seamed elbows and knees so he can be posed.
I’ve painted and sanded his face and neck then painted his beautiful blue eyes and mouth using acrylics and pencils. I then needle sculpted his nose, and sealed his face to prevent from fading. Father Christmas has a full white beard made from beautiful sheep’s wool that has been hand stitched and needle felted in place. I’ve also attached a loop on his back so he can be displayed on a wall or door!
I made for him a gorgeous red velvet outfit that is trimmed with soft fluffy cream colored fabric. His belt is snapped in place and is made from a black leather remnant (cut from my new chaps, and fits him perfectly!). Oh yeah, I also needle sculpted his fingers!
I embellished his hat and coat with rusty jingle bells surrounded by vintage style gold tinsel garland and then I added faux pine garland twisted with gold tinsel to his sleeves, pants, and hat trim. All this, of course has been hand stitched! Don’t forget his painted and sanded black boots with added rusty bells….
Father Christmas comes with a stocking made from a vintage quilt and lace. I filled it with a bottle brush tree that has been sprinkled with lots of mica flakes, two hard plastic candy canes and red berry garland. For the finishing touch I’ve attached a decorated twig wreath, red ribbon bow, and a gold glittery holiday vintage picture tag.
I belong to two very talented group of artists on eBay!
Much attention and heart goes into each piece -- I fuss over details, to bring you my best work!
