Old Fashioned Folk Art Santa

























This is the first Santa I have made this year. He is just shy of 16 inches tall and 4 inches wide. I really enjoyed making him and can’t wait to get started on my next one. Each one will be different from the next as I never use patterns. He is done in vivid red and white, wearing a hooded cape over a long red robe. Santa has big blue gentle eyes and rosy red cheeks. His beard is long and full of curls. He is holding his sack full of toys and candy. I have made him with Osnaburg muslin fabric which has then been painted, sanded then sealed. I have placed wool felt on the bottom to finish him off nicely. I have taken time to give these piece lots of detail and shading. This is a one of a kind drawn free hand. I have signed and dated him. He will make a great addition to any Santa collection.
