Primitive Western Santa Texas Hobby Horse Tree AB4B CT

Santa has gone Texan or Western ( if ya ain’t lucky enough to live here in Texas) on us! Special thanks to Cloth Doll Artistry for the Santa Challenge and this doll body pattern. This is a 3 piece set that DOES come with the doll stand shown so Santa can stand if ya want him too. Let’s start with this western or Texas (wink) Santa. Santa measures about 14 inches tall from his cowboy hat to his painted black boots. He is made from tea stained muslin and has a hand painted face in the Shweet Potato style. His hair and beard is made from ivory wool. Santa’s jacket is a western holiday print with faux suede trim and fur. He had tiny rusty bells for buttons. Santa’s britches are made from a red cotton fabric with a black marbled accent. Of course he has faux fur around the bottom of his britches. Santa’s mittens and boots are painted black.

You know most of the time Santa has his reindeers to take him around the world but here in Texas he has his trusty hobby horse. This hobby horse was designed by me and is made from brown felt. His mane is brown cotton yarn and his halter is black with rhinestones (okay he is a rodeo hobby horse). He has black buttons for eyes. This hobby horse is made on a long cinnamon stick. You can take the horse out of the red weighted paper mache’ box shown, if you want too. Oh can’t forget yes there are reigns for Santa to hold on to, made from hemp thread.

Texas Santa has a weighted sack made from matching fabric to Santa’s jacket. There is an icy bottle brush tree from the top of the sack and a rusty star hanging from the front. Santa’s sack, with bottle brush tree measures 9 inches tall.
