This is the latest aluminum extrusion technology from E-Image. The legs are made from large diameter (29 mm) tubing. At only 5 lbs and 12 ozs this combo's weight is compatible to much more expensive carbon fiber, with a fraction of its cost. It's sturdiness and strength also rival those more expensive unit made from carbon fiber. 

The legs have a load capacity of 16 lbs. The ball head has a weight capacity of 17.5 lbs.
