Professional Coin Photography Service

(before we go any further, I realize that offering such a service requires trust. I am a member of several collectibles organizations, including the ANA (American Numismatic Association) and the APS (American Philatelic Society). I have provided numismatic photography services to coin collectors off eBay for several years now, including international clients, and I can provide references upon request. Want to give your coins that polished presentation and bring them to life, but you don't have the equipment or experience to do so? Then I'm happy to shoot your coins for you!

High-quality coin photographs can serve any number of purposes:

• Showcase a collection on the internet
• Provide documentation for insurance purposes
• Provide documentation and information for your estate, trust, or heirs
• Enhance the final price or actualization of the sale of a coin
• Allow you to enjoy and share the coin visually while retaining the coins themselves in a secure location
• Aid in variety/collection research without your having to have the coins in hand

Short Version: You ship the coins, I shoot them, I send them back.

Long Version: You ship the coins, fully insured, to me. I shoot them and provide proof images online for you to approve. I then place the images on a CD or DVD and send it back with the coins. I send the coins back fully insured.

What You Get:

1. Original unaltered high-resolution images straight from the camera
2. High-resolution images that are cropped, tweaked and masked (to black or a color of your choice; black is really the best as it does not "shift" the apparent color of the coin), one image for each face of the coin
3. Same as #2, but sized to 800 pixels square (or a size of your choice). These are the images you will see online as proofs, and the images you will most likely use on a regular basis or on eBay, etc. You will most likely only ever use the other images for archival, offset printing, or or research purposes, but they are yours in the event you wish to create new masked or composite images. See examples below.
4. If you want large-size slab shots, they are optional. The cost for those is an additional $5 per coin.

How Long It Takes: It will vary, depending on how many coins you send me. Depending on what my workload is, assume 1-2 weeks for the shooting and electronic image manipulation, i.e, exclusive of any time in transit.

What It Costs: $11.99 per coin plus return shipping and insurance costs. If you want 1 coin photographed, buy 1 item. If you want 10 coins photographed, buy 10, etc. You set the total value of your parcel for which it should be insured. Payment for the photography can be made in advance via PayPal or by other methods submitted with the coins (eBay won't allow me to mention any specific payment methods other than PayPal). Before you remit payment, please contact me with the number of coins you want to ship and their value, and I will send you an invoice including the return shipping and handling cost.

IMPORTANT: I only shoot classic U.S. and world coins, tokens, and medals prior to 1960, and I prefer NOT to shoot proofs.
