The debut effort from DJ Logic is one for the ages. The personnel alone, which includes such heavyweights as Vernon Reid, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Marc Ribot, Sex Mob, and Teo Macero, would be enough to make PROJECT LOGIC noteworthy. But it's the thrilling postmodern collage of styles, sounds, and electronic and acoustic impulses--the way these things are brought together so effectively-- that makes the outing such a success. Mixing jazz, hip-hop, funk, Latin, and world music, DJ Logic helped push DJ culture even further into the future with this important release.
