Anyone who loves the outdoors in late November and December in the southeast United States would be thrilled to see a deer as magnificent as this one I call “Pure Joy”.  My son, home from the Naval Academy for a week, was with me when we came across this deer that seemed to have been watching us.  Only when we stopped walking were we able to get a few quick clicks of the camera to enjoy the moment for a lifetime.  This is my favorite Trophy Buck.

Photographer David J Allen lives in Jackson, MS.  His love of photography began as a freshman in college and has opened doors for him the past 30 years.  His son at age 7 developed a love for hunting and the outdoors. David encouraged his son to memorize scripture and once a passage was completed the 2 of them would enjoy a hunting trip together.  Although hunting usually involves a gun or bow, David now uses a camera to catch his trophy bucks.
