For your consideration of purchase, the SET OF THREE (3) made popular by quilters everywhere is now available TOGETHER!

For your consideration of purchase, I am offering the highly-sought-after quarter inch (1/4") foot made popular by quilters everywhere.
There is the 'scant' 1/4 inch as you see in the photograph above... and then there is the exact 1/4 inch which the black metal guide helps to keep your seams perfectly in line and consistent throughout your entire project. You won't have to wonder anymore about whether your seams are accurate... and for me - relieves a bit of neck and eye strain because I have the assurance of stitching straight and perfect.

Look what else this little foot will do.... the right toe acts as the perfect guide for edge-stitching! And the left toe acts as a little guide for stitching-in-the-ditch, too!

The difference between this style foot versus others is how it attaches to the machine. This slips from underneath the shank rather than wrapping around like the other kind. They both 'fit' the same kind of machines identically, the foot itself is just shaped differently. This 1/4 inch foot also has two red marked guides perpendicular to the seam being stitched.
The little steel bar keeps your seams perfectly in line for a scant 1/4" and consistent throughout your entire project. You won't have to wonder anymore about whether your seams are accurate... and for me - relieves a bit of neck and eye strain because I have the assurance of stitching straight and perfect with the little bar doing all the work.

For your consideration of purchase, I am offering the Stitch-in-the-Ditch foot, especially useful for quilters and sew-ers alike... read below for further information explaining why!

Stitching in the ditch is great for beginning machine quilters. Ordinarily when you stitch in the ditch you must keep the stitch in the ditch and your eye on the needle at all times. You should not see the stitches wander away from your seam. (Therefore, it is important that all seams align perfectly so that your stitch will be in a straight line.)
And while it is still important to have a watchful eye on the needle, this 'Stitch-in-the-Ditch' foot helps alleviate guessing and serves as a smooth guide with which to stitch. Note: You should always practice first on a small sandwich.

However, it is the ideal foot to have for seamstresses (as well as you men who sew, too) who need to sew directly in a seam ~ it is another method of 'Under Stitching' where you press seam allowances to one side and top stitch as close to the seam as possible. This holds the seam allowance down and causes the piece of fabric to stay folded under ~ especially useful for facings.

The little steel bar aligns to your seam and guides your stitching throughout the entire project.

Dear Friends of the Needle,
....We are friends because we all know one thing in common, that is, the joy of the needle, that little one-eyed help-meet, that will act as a vent for all those artistic feelings that demand outlet and expression in the form of making and doing things.
What a big family we are, all wielders of the little sewing needle, the knitting needle, the crochet hook and the machine needle in its multiplicity of forms, from the very fine one that will sew the gossamer frock of the little girl’s fancy dress, to the heirloom quilt, to the sturdy member that sews our leather gloves and shoes. Truly, they are one-eyed helpmeets that have added to our comforts and helped us to make progress through this busy world.
But if the machine needles had not been harnessed to good reliable instruments, so that they could work in the quickest and neatest way, they could not have done so much good, and that is why we, as needle workers, are grateful to the age-old Sewing Machine Companies for giving us that vintage instrument and in turn, giving it a beautiful setting with which to work.
We also have to be thankful for the vintage service of instruction, so that even those with basic knowledge can be taught how to make the most of their machine and its wonderful attachments.
Now you have the privilege of purchasing vintage books and instruction on how to make, mend and design, with professional tips, all of which would cost a large sum if you took lessons in the ordinary way. Here you have the written word that remains, as well as illustrations and diagrams making every point clear. It is my privilege to impart some of that knowledge to you and it is a joy to know from your letters that it has helped women in some of the loneliest corners of the world. The word “Sewing” and all it conveys is beyond description in this limited space.
My special message to you is - be a Singer Sewer and your troubles are o'er. You can have pretty, smart frocks, dainty underwear, house-linen, and little Jack and Mary can be well and comfortably dressed without encroaching too much on the family exchequer.
If you want any information on machines or obtaining service for your machine, please write to me through my page and I will assist you.
In the meantime, I am going forth to continue the good work of gratifying more friends of theneedle.
As Always - Your Stitchery Friend,
April

I look forward to becoming Your Stitchery Friend... I am most grateful for your bids and purchases.
