1889 silver catalog. Our other auctions this week include several more books on silver; please take a look!

New York & Chicago. 1889. The Case, Lockwood & Brainard Co. Print, Hartford, Conn.

19th century silver catalog, extensively illustrated. Bound in full leather with flexible boards. Gilt stamping on the front cover. Marbled endpapers and the fore-edge is red. The book measures about 10x12 inches in size. 43 pages. With black and white illustrations throughout.

The leather on the crown & foot of the spine has chipped off. The corners of the covers are bumped and chipped, as well. The top left corner of the back cover has a dark stain. Covers are worn with rubbing. Notes are written in black ink throughout the book. Several pages have tears and creases, some repaired with yellowed tape. The gutter of the front endpaper is torn and the board is coming loose. The gutter between pages 32 and 33 is stained. Some smudges and stains to the pages, including the two pages following the endpapers. The gutter at the bottom of pages 42-43 is split. The pictures to right show the worst of the wear.

There is a price list at the front of the volume, followed by pages of product illustrations. Items shown include: St. Leon Fish Knife, several coffee spoons, an Ice-Cream Knife, salt and pepper shakers, ladies’ scissors, a manicure set, and lots more.

If you'd like insurance or if you're overseas (or over the border) & will require international shipping, please let me know. I'm happy to ship anywhere in the world, but new international rates kick in when a book weighs more than 4 pounds… so be sure to inquire if you'd like to know exact shipping outside the US.

We take shipping seriously here at Riverby. Everything is wrapped in heavy paper and shipped in a padded bag or a box. If you want delivery confirmation or insurance, please let me know. It costs a little more.

INSURANCE IS RECOMMENDED, ESPECIALLY FOR ITEMS SELLING FOR MORE THAN $100.
If you decide not to get insurance, please be aware that that releases me from responsibility if the item is damaged in the mail. I will wrap and ship carefully and professionally, but the purpose of the insurance option is the guard against damage in transit.

Tracking is another option you should consider. I ship everything within 72 hours of receiving payment, but once it's in the mail, I can't update you on its location unless you ask for and pay for tracking. I'm happy to do it, but I leave it up to you, in order to keep shipping costs down.
