Description:

The Radiant P1210 Point-of-Sale is a compact unit designed to support flexibility at the checkout while maintaining quality at a low cost.  The form factor of the P1210 is an all-in-one design that contains the CPU, touch screen user display, magnetic stripe reader, and customer display.  All of the I/O connectors are housed conveniently to provide for easier maintenance and better cable management. The small footprint allows users to maximize countertop space, which is critical in retail and food service applications.  The P1210 supports multiple operating systems and expandable memory configurations.

The P1210 terminal utilizes the Intel Celeron 733MHz processor to support long-life and high reliability.  The processor is on Intel’s long-life Embedded Roadmap which is supported by Intel for longer periods of time and can extend the life cycle of the system 2-3 times that of an off-the-shelf pc.  The 20GB 5400rpm hard disk provides more than adequate storage to support point-of-sale transactions and manager functions that are part of every common POS package.

This package includes a 12.1” active matrix, color, 1024x768 resolution main display with a resistive touch screen.  The resistive touch screen allows the user to operate the POS terminal with a stylus, fingernail, gloves, or finger touch.  The active matrix screen provides high display quality, with excellent contrast and brightness. Additionally, the P1210 offers the very best in retail multimedia, including full motion video.  The resistive touch screen overlay offers a very durable, accurate, and fast touch interface.  The tilt angle for the user display ranging from -10° to 65° improves flexibility and convenience at the counter.

The need to connect many peripherals is important in the retail and hospitality industries so additional connectivity has been designed into the P1210.  The I/O panel offers four open powered serial ports (+5V/+12V options of each port), two USB ports, two PS/2 ports, one parallel port, two dedicated cash drawer ports (both powered), and one RJ-45 LAN connection.  This provides expansion capabilities if new devices/peripherals need to be supported without having to buy an add-on expander.  Also, the powered serial ports and cash drawer ports eliminate the need for power bricks, thereby reducing another point of potential failure.

The P1210 supports multiple operating systems including Windows XP Professional and XP Embedded.  Other operating systems are available upon request.  The P1210 provides full support for TCP/IP networking on a 10BaseT or 100BaseT Ethernet network.
