RARE 1894 WALES SILVER PLATE CHURCH MEMORIAL TROWEL

FANTASTIC PIECE w FULL DEDICATION & ENGRAVED PATTERNS

This is a very desirable Victorian silver plated trowel form cake lifter with bone handle, measuring approx. 11-3/4" long x 3-1/4" across widest portion. The trowel reads Presented by the Committee to Mrs. Roberts on the occasion of her laying one of the Memorial Stones of Congregational Chapel Rhesycae May 1st 1894. With a bit of research we found that Rhesycae was a tiny village or town in Wales. The silver plated portion of this piece is in excellent original condition, but the handle has a crack down one side. There are no maker's marks, but it is of very high quality with excellent engraved designs, just a real beauty and a rare find for the collector of Welsh History. This is part of a huge estate we are handling, really one of the finest we have had in years, so be sure to Click here to see A LOT more Sterling and Silver Plate. I am sure this would sell for a handsome price at any antique show or shop, but with my low opening bid and NO RESERVE someone could score a huge bargain !!
