RARE ANTIQUE CHINESE PICTORIAL CRANE+DEER SADDLE COVER

RARE ANTIQUE CHINESE SADDLE RUG, Norther China, Baotau-Suiyaun region, end of the 19th to very early 20th century, and in excellent, full pile, original condition for the collector. The exact size is: 1'-10" x 3'-10" (56 x 117 cm). A lovely specimen of its type displaying a mirror image landscape theme with crane and deer. This example possesses very soft wool quality and seems to have never been used. Absolutely pristine condition with the original side cord over-castings (see close up photos). Both ends have been secured to prevent loss of knots. Typical of this time period in Northern China, this weaving has both natural and non-natural dyes.
