HELLO, I recently purchased a very fine set of 19th century blown and cut crystal from Scotland, at a local Antiques Estate sale (along with several other pieces and sets of Hawkes cut crystal wines, plates & ice cream dishes to be auctioned next week. )

Available in three separate auctions are these matched sets: 1. Ten Water goblets, 2. Six Cordial Glasses, 3. Twelve Ice Cream/Berry bowls.

1. In this auction are Ten Water Goblets, incredibly beautiful blown & cut, clear cased over gold ruby (Original Cranberry Glass) crystal water goblets, from the late 19th century, Ediburgh Scotland.
2. These 'Thistle' shape glasses are in excellent vintage condition. Seven glasses are in mint condition, showing minimal vintage wear, while three of the ten glasses each have one small rim chip. Fine antique glasses of this rarity and quality can be fixed at a minimal cost, by a professional glass restorer in your area.
3. The photos do not do these fine glasses justice. You need to see them in person to fully appreciate the color, clarity, cut and sparkle of these rare beauties. Quality was so important to 19th century european glass artisans, who took their time blowing and cutting these fabulous works of art, one at a time.
4. These glasses are far more rare than the colorless clear version made in Edinburgh from the late 19th century thru the 1990s. These authentic 'Gold Ruby' glasses were only made for a short time during the late 19th century. A colorless 'Thistle' water glass may be purchased for $297. per glass on Replacements ltd. Cranberry versions are so rare they are not even on the list and I would imagine, if and when available, would sell for far more than the colorless version, which have been made for over 100 years.
